Dermatologists are trained to treat patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. This includes the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of problems of the skin, hair and nails. Conditions common among children are moles and birthmarks, rashes/dermatitis, acne, warts and other viral infections, and insect bites. In adults, we treat a range of conditions such as cancers and pre-cancers, acne, rosacea, seborrhea, psoriasis, shingles, age spots/brown spots, sun damage and skin discoloration. We also treat eczema, allergies and other disorders that occur in all age groups, and carefully examine moles or other growths to determine whether they are or may become cancerous.
We hope to improve the rate of cure of most types of skin cancer by focusing on prevention and early diagnosis and treatment. With that in mind, skin cancer screenings are available. Patients who have pre-cancers, atypical moles or skin cancer may choose among options from excisional skin surgery to Mohs Micrographic Surgery.
