Meet Our Providers
R. Sonia Batra, MD, MSc, MPH
Dr. Batra is delighted to be practicing in her hometown. A native of Los Angeles, she ventured east for undergraduate studies at Harvard University after graduating Valedictorian of Palisades High School. At Harvard, she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Batra graduated early from Harvard in three years and was selected from California as the youngest Rhodes Scholar. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Genetics at the University of Oxford, England.
Dr. Batra earned her medical degree with honors from Harvard Medical School, where she was President of the Student Council. She also earned a Master’s degree from the Harvard School of Public Health. She completed her Internship, Residency, and Chief Residency in dermatology at Stanford University School of Medicine. She returned to Boston for fellowship training in Dermatologic, Laser, Cosmetic and Mohs Micrographic Surgery at SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill as well as clinical research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Prior to private practice, Dr. Batra was the Section Head of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery at City of Hope National Medical Center. She remains involved in clinical research and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the USC Keck School of Medicine. She is also a Contributing Editor for the journal Dermatologic Surgery and a reviewer for the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology and JAMA Dermatology. She is a frequent media expert and recurring co-host on The Doctors TV Show on CBS.
She is grateful to be supported by a medical family – her father, mother, brother, and husband are all physicians! Her husband, Sameer, is a urologist, and they are the proud parents of two children and a Havanese dog.

Amelia Mittleman, PA-C
Amelia Mittleman is a board certified physician assistant and a native of Santa Monica. After graduating from Crossroads School, she attended Vassar College and graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She then earned a Masters of Medical Science from the Yale University School of Medicine Physician Associate Program. Amelia began her career as a dermatology physician assistant in 2011 in Connecticut and has practiced dermatology in Southern California since 2015.
Amelia has experience diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions. She is skilled in performing biopsies, dermatologic surgery and other surgical and cosmetic procedures. To maintain certification as a physician assistant, she must complete 100 hours of Continuing Medical Education every two years and pass a national recertification examination every 10 years.
In her free time, Amelia enjoys cooking, hiking and playing the piano.
Natalya Edery, Esthetician
Natalya joins our practice with over 20 years training from all over the world. After graduating from Esthetician School in the Republic of Kazakhstan, she spent her early years with a focus on massage therapy, practicing as a masseuse in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and eventually moved to the United States. She retrained and graduated from the Paris Beauty College in Concord, CA, and then joined the LaBelle Day Spa in Palo Alto, CA as their esthetician. We are fortunate she brought her services to Santa Monica, where we welcomed her to the Batra team to offer quality facials for our patients.
Natalya is an expert in tailoring her treatments to the needs of each individual patient's skin, leaving your skin feeling both treated and refreshed. She is currently offering appointments on Fridays, with the option of other weekday appointments upon availability.

Appointments & Consultations
To schedule an appointment, please call (310) 829-9099 or book an appointment online.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you kindly provide us with at least 48 hours' notice. This courtesy on your part will make it possible to give your appointment time to another patient. If you miss your appointment or cancel/reschedule with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be charged a $35 cancellation fee. We appreciate your understanding.
Our office provides on-call service for emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During after hours, call (310) 829-9099, and follow the prompt to page the on-call provider directly.

Payment / Insurance
Medical insurance plans usually do not cover cosmetic procedures, and payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience, we also accept the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept personal checks.
We are an in-network provider for the majority of PPO Insurance Plans in California. We recommend that you contact your insurance to confirm that we are in-network for your specific plan.
We do not accept Managed Health Care Oversight Plans, Blue Cross Covered CA, HMO, EPO, MediCal, Medicare HMO, Medicare Advantage PPO, or Cigna "Local Plus" insurance plans.
Patients are responsible for deductibles, co-payments, and remaining balances.
